The 20-80 Rule to Get Straight

In the early 1900’s The 80-20 rule is called the Pareto Principle named after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto.
The original observation came from 80% of Italy’s land was owned by 20 % of the people.
Since then many economists have studies all types of industries.
Examples of the 80-20% Rule:
Richard Koch reported in “Living Life the 80/20 Way.”
- 80% of a company’s profits come from 20% of its customers
- 80% of a company’s complaints come from 20% of its customers
- 80% of a company’s profits come from 20% of the time its staff spend
- 80% of a company’s sales come from 20% of its products
- 80% of a company’s sales are made by 20% of its sales staff
We also know just being around that
80% of job is unfinished or people don’t follow up.
80% of the books we own are not read from the beginning page to the last chapter.
80% of the people buy a gym membership but quit after a while.
80% of the people quit their job. Only 20 % stay and make something of it.
Dr. Joseph Juran who was known as the pioneer in Quality Management called this
a principle of “the vital few and trivial of many.”
Wealth Distribution:
In the study done 10-15 years ago, 20 % of the population owned the 80 % of the wealth in the world.
Since then I have heard a different ratio, like 5 % of the richest people own the 95 % of the world wealth.
Indeed this 80-20 rule may be getting far worse. It’s the same types of proportions in America, too. The 5 % of people own 95 % of wealth in America.
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
Are you going to be a part of the 80 % of ‘the have not’s’ ?
Or are you going to rise to the top 20 %?
Be a part of ‘the have’s’ enjoying their lives.
It is as I said more like 95% of people struggling to make a good living,
living from pay check to pay check.
