New Meaning of Persistence: Root’s Ki Energy

New Meaning of Persistence: Root’s Ki Energy

Persistence creates Faith.  And faith is the only known antidote for failure, it is the starting point of all accumulation of riches, and it is the only agency through which one can tap the force of Infinite Intelligence.
Napoleon Hill

No Reason to Quit But…

Philosophers, famous public figures, motivational speakers, artists, writers, actors and athletes all have great quotes about never giving up.    In school, practicing sports, music and doing many projects, all of you all heard so often from your teachers and coaches never to quit.  If you fall just get up.

So why do people give up?   Or perhaps they may still hang around but basically they’ve  just stopped trying.

Persistence is an Essential Factor:

Persistence is an essential factor that allows you to continue your effort.  The definition of persistence is firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.   Persistence is born out of the power of will.   Desire and Will Power are properly transported by a vehicle of Persistence.   Napoleon Hill defines persistence in “Think and Grow Rich” as the sustained effort necessary to induce faith.   Daily persistence generates faith and faith allows you to tap into the Universal Intelligence, that deep knowing and intuition.  This is how success becomes a reality.  Your desire is transmuted into a physical and financial equivalent and your goal is achieved.

Persistence is often associated with struggles, hardship and strong will power to carry through in spite of challenges we face.  I would like to introduce you to a  different meaning.
And let us explore how we can meet our challenges in the year 2015.

Persistence brings the fruit of joy, the flower of beauty and the health of longevity.

The Root’s Ki-Energy (Chi) is Persistence in Japanese:
根氣(Konki)

If someone is very persistent, in Japanese he is described as having very strong “Root’s Ki energy.”

The roots of a plant has four distinct functions:

1]  Absorb water, minerals and nutrients from soil and distribute to other parts of the plant.
2]  Support and secure the plant in the soil.
3]  Store large amount of nutrients and energy.
4]  Reproduce or regenerate the plant.

There are some other amazing characteristics of the roots.  They are so powerful and can grow penetrating through rocks, metals and woods.  They are adaptable and can be molded into a confined space or create their own paths by going around objects.

I recently cut back entire pot full plants of Wandering Jews… just stems and roots left stripped of all leaves.  Water is dripping from the tips of the stems steadily day and night.  This is so incredible to watch and realize how powerful the roots are.  Laws of the Universe are at work.   The roots are doing what they are supposed to do and I can see clearly.

So we humans cannot see what’s going on.  So we really don’t understand how these Laws operate.

Persistence is not just a mental phenomenon but a Spiritual Attitude:

Most people learn from Personal Development to be persistent.  People have such limiting beliefs and they have bad habits of quitting many things in their lives.

Carrying on things that are important in their lives persistently actually is a part of the Universe’s modus operandi.    People obstruct what is supposed to be working.  But if they follow mindfully, they will be persistently following the process of their effort.

Eight Core Values of Persistence:

Persistence is one of the important spiritual attitudes like gratitude, humility, compassion and repentance and service.  People practice and cultivate these attitudes.  No one is born with a high level of persistence.  This is like other spiritual attitudes… something you practice to develop.

1.  Fine tune and know your definite purpose.  Know your why’s and purpose.  This is the root of your being.

2.  Be in touch with your desire and motivate yourself.  This is your fire and fuel.

3.  Develop  Self-Reliance with auto-suggestions and affirmations.  This is daily maintenance and gardening to cultivate soil and do              weeding.

4.  Be ready with definiteness of plans.  This allows you to be adaptable and ready for alternate actions daily when going get tough or
plans don’t seem to work out.

5.  Research and adjust your plans.  You will distinguish the difference between intelligently persistent and insanely repetitive with
doing the things that no longer serve you.

6.  Belong to a Mastermind Group for mutual support both in business ideas and emotional connections.

7.  Practice will power to follow through with your plans.

8.  Create a great daily habit of all these steps.  You will just do these things you need to do systematically.

Change Your Behavior Patterns:

People need to study and develop and grow.   There are 16 ways that people can change their behavior patterns so that these situations don’t prevent people being persistent.

Here is the checklist of what we want to work on to change your daily behavior patterns.

1. Know what you want.
2.  Do things at once as needed.
3. Be willing to learn specialized knowledge necessary.
4. Act without giving excuses why you shouldn’t do them.
5. Create definite plans to solve problems without excuses.
6. Don’t be self-absorbed.
7. Don’t compromise just to be lazy or to disrespect what you stand for.
8. Don’t blame others and face up to your own responsibility.
9. Focus on and clarify you own desire.
10. Recognize your fear and move through to take action as needed.
11.  Create and be ready with written organized plans, ready to execute.
12. Practice to move on new ideas or to take up new opportunity when they present themselves.
13. Be willing instead of just wishing.
14. Aim high.  Avoid the poverty mentality.
15. Avoid unintelligent shortcuts.
16.  Follow only sound advice and ignore opinions of people and society who have no authority in the matter in question.

Persistence is no longer about hardship and struggles.  It is just the energy we incorporate throughout our being every day.   We can experience joy, beauty and health.  Year after year we will enjoy this process of longevity.

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, “Press on!” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
Calvin Coolidge

Persistence is far more than just a strong set of will power but rather incorporate mindfulness, scientific organization, personal development and belonging to a mastermind group.

About Napoleon Hill’s Book, “Think and Grow Rich”
I believe that anyone who wants to grow personally and also succeed in business must have a copy of Napoleon Hill’s
“Think and Grow Rich.”   You can also obtain an audio cassette and listen to it while driving or doing some chores.  I recommend the Original Version Restored and Revised by Ross Cornwell.  After you have read the book a few times, you can begin to explore Appendix and Endnotes as references.  This is a book to be read one section at a time and each exercise should be completed and followed through daily.

The right mindset and a strategic business system will help in persisting to go beyond where you are in life.
