Is This Shiny Bright Object?
If you are wanting to quit what you are doing now…
If you have an entrepreneurial opportunity…
It’s not giving you the result you want…
You are presented with another opportunity…
this sounds very attractive…
Are You Suffering from Shiny Bright Object Syndrome?
So you quit and start a new company…
Then another one opportunity comes your way…
It’s not working out quite you hoped for
So you quit and join another one…
Begin with Awareness:
The big question is this.
If you should stick to something you’ve been doing?
Or … you found something else so should you switch to this new thing?
sometimes it is really a hard choice to make, isn’t it?
The new thing (program or opportunity) promises all kinds of solutions that would solve your problems along with dissatisfaction or doubt you have from something that is missing in your current situation.
First you are thrown into confusion:
- But the new opportunity wants lump sum money.
- For example, for you to take a course or buy into a whole program.
- That costs lots and lots of money that you don’t have.
- You were considering of doing something different or something else.
- Because you weren’t making enough money.
A NEW PROMISE is shining like a precious stone like a diamond ring or even like gold:
- The new program is totally resonating with you.
- It’s telling you to fox something you didn’t like in your current situation.
- The new thing is promising you that you will make tons of money.
- Usually this type of promotion gives you a time limit of 3 day upto 7 days.
- It requires for you to pay $5000 or even $10000 in that range right now.
- It has a time limit discount offer right now if you join within 24 hours or 7 days.
So what should you do?
The price will go up by $1000 or $2000 or even double after this time limit.
And you don’t have any extra cash and you feel you’d have to come up with money.
Have you been in a situation like this?
Shiny Bright Object Syndrome happens more easily especially in Internet Marketing arena,
- because it’s been so much easier for
- someone you didn’t know before to come into your life
- right away via an introduction of someone you know
- And build credibility and establish authority immediately
- After an hour or two of a free seminar
- give you a pitch
- so what should you do?
Mahatma Gandhi said something very, very interesting.
The Friend (that’s your inner self) says “NO” …
Can you relate to that?
Can you relate to that?
How do you listen to your Friend?
Go back to your definite purpose, vision and Goal.
Review on lessons on persistence.
It isn’t about if this new shiny object is good or bad; or right or wrong.
It’s about your commitment to your Purpose, Vision and Goal.
Are you in alignment with what you’ve set out to do?
Exercise to Eliminate Shiny Bright Object Syndrome:
- It’s so important for you to stick to something
- Work through
- What the issues are in your current situation
- Then only then when you are convinced
- You will switch to the new opportunity
- But don’t just quit.
- If you switch now…
you’ll be switching from one shine object to next. - And if you can talk to your mentor or sponsor
in your current situation
talk to them… - See what you can do to change your situation
- Modify and improve what you are working on.
- I am not saying you should be married to something forever and ever…
- But don’t just jump from one thing to another.
- Stick around to see if there are lots of success stories within the system you have now.
- What is that you haven’t been doing?
- What you’ve done that was good and worked?
- What didn’t work?
- And learn to improve what you’re doing right now.
- So this is my advice.
You have to think and look deeper into yourself:
- Take a look at yourself.
- What worked?
- What didn’t work?
- And what you’d have to need to improve.
- Talk to someone you trust in the industry you are in.
Not your family members or friends necessarily.
When you get in touch with your FRIEND, it is much easier to process a new information or a new opportunity.
