How to Create an Abundant Life Part 3: 3 Ways to Make Money Honestly

Abundance Is Created by Making Money Honestly

An educated man is not, necessarily, one who has an abundance of general or specialized knowledge.  An educated man is one who has so developed the faculties of his mind that he may acquire anything he wants, or its equivalent, without violating the rights of others.
Napoleon Hill

As a person living in the 21st Century, he or she requires a sufficient amount of money to live comfortably;

live in harmony with others; and live expressing his full potential.   A person living an abundant life must respect the rights of others, be true to himself and understand relationships of people, things and places and live by the Universal Laws.   Integrity, integration and Interconnectedness will guide a person to make money honestly.

Integrity:
A person who enjoys abundance is an educated person.  He/she is always studying about ways of nature, people and things.  This doesn’t mean the person is getting many degrees or certifications.  He/she is open minded and willing to learn and try things out and experiment.  In Sanskrit there is a word to describe such a person, Muksha, seeker of knowledge and truth.    This type of education is seen in John Newton’s transformation from once being a slave trader now a clergyman who embraced “Amazing Grace.”

A truly abundant person has amazing self-confidence.  This attribute is cultivated and developed.

Let’s take a look at the 5th step of Napoleon Hill’s self-confidence formula.
“I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless build upon truth and justice; therefore, I will engage in no transaction that does not benefit all whom it affects.
I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use and the cooperation of other people.  I will induce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve others.  I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, and cynicism by developing love for all humanity – because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success.  I will cause others to believe in me because I will believe in them in myself.”

Integrity is more than doing things that are legal.   It is uncompromising adherence to your moral and ethical values.  It’s possible to manipulate people in order to get your outcome you want without engaging in illegal activities.   If the only qualification is being legitimate,  you can still cheat people; take advantage of other’s weak positions; misrepresent your offers, exaggerate features of the products you sell, etc.   Many handshake agreements and oral contracts are broken.   People don’t take personal promises seriously and stand up others.

You have a commitment to yourself to exercise integrity.  You must be true to your core values.  You must follow through your commitment to be the best person you can be.

Exercise #1.  Is what you do legitimate?  Are you making promises you don’t intend to keep?  Are you depending on other’s false expectation of you?  Are you denying others of the honesty and transparency?

Exercise #2.  If you are just discovering your deepest desire, now is the time to start to think about what you are going to do with your wealth when you create it.

Exercise #3.  If you now know what wealth means to you, or have achieved wealth beyond your imagination, then think of how to extend and share your wealth with others less fortunate than you.

Wealth shared generously is abundance.

Integration:

Every adversity, every failure, every heartbreak carries with it the seeds of an equal or greater benefits.
Napoleon Hill

Everything in this Universe is composed of many dynamically different elements.   Because the Planet Earth rotates around the Sun, we have varieties of climates.  We identify them as four seasons.  But one summer is not the same as the summer before or after.   You may live actively only in the spring and the summer.  And begin to vegetate in the late fall and literally hibernate in the winter.

If the Universe throws a penny in your direction…  You don’t see the value.  It’s only one penny.  Besides it is greenish and tarnished.    The next day the Universe throws two pennies.   Each day, the amount doubles.   If you are not “educated” in the ways the Universe operates, you will continue to ignore these gifts for a long time.

For a person whose way is abundance, he/she polishes that experience of pain, failure, loss and he begins to see his life a little different… it’s like one experience allows him to have enrichment doubling in value.

In my earlier blog, I talked about studying chemical engineering in college.   My parents wanted me to go back to Japan so they didn’t intend to support me in America.  I planned to go to a tuition free college and got accepted into the City College of New York.   And I declared my independence from my parents.

I got a live-in baby sitter’s position with a rich family on Central Park West.  During the first summer, the children and I stayed in a beautiful gated community by the ocean where rich and famous people had summer vacation homes.  The parents worked in the City and came up on Friday evenings.  Only to socialize all weekend.  And went back on Sunday night to the City.  Finally they had their two week vacation.  They took off on a cruise in Europe.

I was 18 years old.  I cooked for the children breakfast, lunch and dinner, literally 7 days a week.  While other babysitters went out at night, I had to stay at the house and I was alone by myself after the children went to bed.    Then I didn’t know anything about personal development.  But I remained positive.  I got to see the inside of prosperous and prestigious American homes.  I did enjoy the beautiful community and the beach every single day.   I got to read a lot that summer.  The best part was …When I had my own daughters years later, I was so prepared to be a mother.

Abundance comes from integrating many different experiences and circumstances that life presents to you.

Exercise  #4.   Study top 25 richest people in America or the people in your life you respect.   Write out how they accumulated their financial wealth.  How did they contribute to society.  What are the lives of the people who work for them?  Can you distinguish the difference between financially rich from being abundant?

Exercise #5.  Review your own life.  (Take what you like and leave what you don’t like behind.)  Choose 3 unique experiences you had.  Describe how you integrated your experiences in your life to be who you are today.

 Interconnectedness:

When riches begin to come, they come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one wonders where they have been hiding during all those lean years.
Napoleon Hill

As you study more, you begin to believe in the Laws of the Universe.  The Success Principles are not just hypothetical principles written on a piece of paper. These principles are not just a bunch of sentences appearing in books.  These are the Laws of the Universe and they actually interact with you.    It’s like you interacting with a very wise sage and you will be getting to know them.  Or  you interacting with energy around you.

Abundance isn’t just a static, non moving state.  If you are moving at 25 miles an hour, this describes a speed.

But if you begin to increase your speed .5 mile an hour or 1 mile an hour, this describes a rate of speed changing, acceleration.

“Riches begin to come so quickly in such great abundance.” Abundance is not static and it is very dynamic.   This is the reason when most people succeed it is very difficult for them to explain a precise step by step process.  They have a breakthrough… in such great abundance that things that happen to them are beyond their imagination.

In actuality they created a state of abundance to attract things they desire in such abundance.

Exercise #6.  Have a quiet, peaceful moment every day. Write down if you have not or revisit the exact amount of money you intend to have by a specified target date.  What you would give up to obtain this and what actions you take every day.

Exercise #7. Write a clear description of your abundance. Read this out loud.  Visualize.  Feel your abundance in your body.  (Minimum of 5 to 10 Min. per day) Write down your realization.

An educated person is all about integrity, integration and interconnectedness.

When you work with a mastermind team, you will closely work with many win-win situations.
