Your Path to Freedom
Economic, Social and Political Movement:
Let’s explore several aspects of freedom. When people’s lives are concerned, it is impossible to separate economic, social and political impacts. The first type of freedom is a big economic, social and political movement fighting tyranny, oppression, abuse, corruption, and injustice.
There are two opposing factions; the haves and have-nots; the oppressors and oppressed; the rulers and the ruled; the privileged and disadvantaged; the slave owners and slaves.
Throughout the history, a small group of visionary leaders emerged and helped to emancipate the weak and oppressed nation or its people. What the Americans celebrate on July 4th Independence Day was the results of courage, bloodsheds and lives lost. Abolition of Slavery and Women’s Suffrage are major examples of a class of people fighting for their freedom. Any social and political freedom is the cause and effect of economic freedom. Freedom is a Movement. The people fight to gain more equality, justice, equitable distribution of wealth and the right to participate in important decision making processes.
Personal Freedom:
Next, this is immediate to all of us. Personal freedom is born out of a person’s desire to improve his/her life. Many people in today’s civilized society really do not know what they want precisely and clearly. They are generally focused on persistent problems they experience. They want to be debt free. They are sick and tired of living pay check to pay check. They want their loved one to stop misbehaving and to make big changes. They don’t like their job, boss and co-workers. They are disappointed in their government. “If only I had more money, I will be happy and free.” “If my spouse loves me back again, I will feel free and happy.”
Every one wants to have more, to do more fun things, to have harmonious relationships, and have financial freedom where they are not worried about paying bills all the time.
Six Steps to Attain Personal Freedom:
These steps will get you clear on what you want and get motivated.
- Get Clear on your purpose (Why’s)
- Means of Attaining your desire (Vision)
- Set your Goals (small steps and long term)
- Follow action plans consistently
- Follow your plans with commitment and persistence
- You may say that FREEDOM means fighting to get what you don’t have. Rethink deeper.
Rethinking You Freedom:
Most people are affected by materialistic thinking. Freedom is not something you can buy. Freedom you experience in your life is not about how much money you have and what you can buy. Many women want to be married to gain their financial security.
So you think if you have a larger house, a big new car and never worry about your finances, you will be free.
Freedom is NOT some material or a status you just acquired now and it is not that you weren’t free because you didn’t have those things before.
Freedom is your state of mind and being. And that doesn’t mean you disregard materials, money and life style that facilitate your lifestyle to do something great in your life.
Freedom is an inside job. The truth will set you free. Most people are imprisoned by the conditioning of the society and negative experiences. They are not free from the prison of their own ego, pride and self- justification. They are unable to reach out to a power greater than themselves. In order to see the truth, you must gain tools to understand yourself through personal development.
