How Do You Pray? Are You Looking to Improve How You Pray?
I don’t mean to be disrespectful.
If you are a devout person and pray all the time,
and trust and believe in your god,
and your life is perfectly working,
you can just shut this video and say “goodbye.”
I have nothing to tell or teach you.
However, you’d like to strengthen your faith more
or learn to pray more effectively, please stay on.
I’d like to tell you about 5 ways to improve your praying.
0:55
Why most people start to pray?
Most people go to pray because something isn’t working. They are stuck and they have difficulties and they want God to help.
They may have been praying to God.
Or they may never have prayed to God before.
They don’t have much faith in God.
They are desperate. That’s a good place to be in terms of beginning to pray.
Whatever and however you pray, start to pray.
Because what you do is
You develop to strengthen your faith little by little by praying.
Take out some good prayers that you find and pray on a regular basis.
1:38
You can personalize the way you pray.
Instead of just being a victim, being in a desperate place, you can begin to think of an outcome that you would really like to get.
and that you are willing to work for.
You are asking for guidance. That’s different for saying, “Oh God I don’t know what to do, please do something. You ask for guidance.
“I like to be in this place. To have a better relationship of my daughter,”
Not like praying, “My daughter has to listen to me.”
Or asking “Let her stop doing all these things.”
2:25
No negativity.
No asking for other people to do something for you.
But what you can do and how you are approaching and ask God’s guidance and support.
And that you are willing to put in whatever it takes to get there.
2:49
Think of the outcome. Willingness to get there.
In the video we covered:
[1] Take out some great prayers that you like or they resonate with you, and begin to pray using one or two. The very act of praying will strengthen your faith.
[2] Personalize your prayer. Have conversations with your God, Nature, Universe, God of your understanding or a power you feel exist that is beyond your own self.
[3] Focus on positive outcomes you desire. Pray for the positive outcome and be sure that you are going to work along with your God to attain these outcomes.
[4] Praying is about asking for God’s guidance and protection. State your part in making things happen. Not begging for Gods to do everything for you as you are completely resigned and giving up helplessly.
[5] Praying is not about asking God to control other’s action or behavior to do your liking.
Here are few more points to embellish on:
[6] Practice to cultivate some of the basic spiritual attitudes…
random act of kindness (not just your loved ones only)
FORGIVENESS OF YOURSELF AND OTHERS.
HUMILITY
GRATITUDE
LOVE
SERVICE
GENEROSITY
JOYFULNESS
HONESTY
EMPATHY and LISTENING
[7] Be respectful. Show up to meet this power of the Universe, with pleasant attitudes, wash up and show up… like you would go for an interview with someone important. Be very clear in what you communicate and speak from your heart.
Share your dreams and the deepest wishes in your heart as you pray.
Praying for Your Business: 7 Steps to Pray for Business
[1] Have an honest conversation with your God. Remember this is the power you understand and accept as the source of guidance and wisdom that the Universe sends you.
[2] As a reflection and a lesson to learn from, speak to your higher power about what some of your difficulties have been in business. what part have you played and what you intend to improve.
[3] State your struggles in the past tense. You thank this power that it is about to release and end your struggles. You are now ready to step into your success about to happen.
[4] You thank this power to have guided you to this point of clarity.
[5] State precisely what is your ‘why’ for stepping into your success from your heart.
[6] Pledge to this power and to yourself that you are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals set. Share with your power what your goals are.
[7] Close your eyes and visualize as images or feel the energy and power of your interaction with your Higher Power. Breathe in this glory and joy of accomplishment; and express your gratitude for your Higher Power’s guidance and protection.
This prayer exercise above is non-denominational and practiced according to the teaching of interfaith principles.

This is awesome Yukiko, Faith and Gratitude.
yes, Steve. It’s something that we all need to continue to practice. Thank you.
Great info Yukiko. Praying is a way to surrender to purpose or asking for help which is a sign of strength not weakness. Thanks for sharing.
Hi David, I love receiving comments that give more of wisdom from a coach like yourself. Thank you.

I enjoyed this post – and also the insights in the comments!
Sometimes I find that people get so overwhelmed with the struggle to make friends that they retreat into an online world. This gives them the illusion of busyness and activity but it’s an empty kind of busyness that ends up reinforcing social fears.
So another way to drastically improve your social life would be by admitting to yourself if you are using facebook and twitter as a way of avoiding one AND doing something to address the reasons.
