There are several Common Mistakes beginners make when they are making selfie videos.
[1]Hold your smart phone horizontally.
This is a very common mistake made. The vertical video syndrome creates black, dark space one on each side of the video screen. You can hold your video vertically (portrait style) when shooting Periscope videos.
Be sure to have a landscape screen with full scenery on your video screen.
[2] Keep your video short.
The maximum length should be 3 minutes.
(If you are doing a captivating tutorial or webinar, you can do a longer video.)
[3] Use the Pareto principle, the 80–20 rule.
This is the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity which states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes
This principle applies applied to your marketing video means that you cannot be only talking about special business and features about your business and your products. Be sure to have rich content, and something that will solve your viewer’s problem.
[4] Be aware of your facial expression.
Your smile is very important.
Be sure to smile in the beginning and at the end of the video.
{Count upto 3 to 5 seconds.}
When you are ready to insert your Customized Thumbnail on your YouTube or Facebook video, this will become very handy.
[5] Don’t delay or procrastinate.
You don’t need a fancy professional camera or special lighting effects. You don’t have to have special movie editors.
You do not have to delay your video projects till you learn to edit or do fancy graphics. Editing is not necessary. There are free video editors such as Movie Maker and i-Movie available.
