2 Quick Tips to Make Email Inbox Manageable: Unsubscribe and Whitelist

Electronic spamming is defined by  en.wikipedia.org as  “the use of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited messages (spam), especially advertising, as well as sending messages repeatedly on the same site.  The most widely recognized form of spam is e-mail spam.”

You do have some responsibility managing your email inbox:

How much time do you spend going through your e-mail.
Let’s focus on cutting that time in half or reduce to 25 %.
Like any clean ups, we don’t hope to accomplish everything in one big sweep.

You do have some responsibility.

You may not just remember by entering your e-mail to a free bonus or offer on a capture page,  but you did subscribe.
But some marketers are really bad marketers and they are spammy… same selling and promotional stuff several times a day!  You didn’t ever expect this kind of affront.

We are focusing on getting rid of legitimate e-mails that you no longer wish to receive.
This should be very easy to do but many people don’t know this.
First distinguish the e-mail list you subscribed to from  spam.
This is the easiest ones to deal with.

Unsubscribe unwanted emails:

As shown in the images, scroll down to the bottom of the e-mail and click the unsubscribe link.  There are a few variations.    These are rather small prints.  This is how an autoresponder provides  the link set up.

So don’t get mad, irritated or frustrated.  It’s really not personal.  Don’t subscribe to so many free offers and bonuses.

Some marketers have tens of thousands of people on their lists… so if you just send back on their e-mail requesting to be unsubscribed,  you probably won’t be unsubscribed fast and easily.

If you are receiving some one’s e mail on a regular basis without any autoresponder set up,
and no “unsubscribe” provision, I think it is technically illegal.   (I have several of those I’ve been tolerating, too)
Probably a friend of yours… someone you exchanged business cards at networking meetings, etc.

Marketers have been taught to clean up their e-mail lists.
No reason to have subscribers who don’t open their  daily  e-mail.  Markets pay for the autoresponder’s service based on

the volume, and their ranking goes down, too.

So if you are not interested those email letters, take a few minutes and unsubscribe
from any and all e-mail senders.

How to Whitelist:

The e-mail that you would like to read.

Many of them may end up in your junk or spam folders.

Simply follow the direction provided here.

for Gmail account,

Outlook account,
Yahoo Account, etc.

After you follow these 2 tips you can basically focus on your inbox,
and empty out your junk folder at click of a finger.

Just a few words on SPAM:

Most people say don’t try to unsubscribe… because now
you will end up giving spammers more information about you.

Social media notifications:

Go to your account and got to manage setups.
You can choose how or how not to receive notification.

Some more words of wisdom:

1] Don’t carry over you garbage over night.
Do you take out your garbage every day?
It’s the same principle.  Just delete the e mail that you won’t need fast.
A pile of garbage sticks more each day passing and only wears down on your sanity.

2] Caution on moving an e-mail from the Junk box to Inbox.

If you have multiple accounts set up in Outlook or any other similar provider, be sure to direct the mail to the inbox of the same account.    You’ll spend a few minutes looking for this… and a minute here and there add up to a big waste of time.

3] Be cautious about free downloadable “unsubscriber” software.  Read reviews and decide for yourself.
If this will cause more headache for you or not.
